For those not familiar with Herr Doktor Darien Mason, his clank daughter(s) Qlippothic Projects and Gematria, and sons Vortex Koencamp and Ash Mason Tumim, their family history is complex, dark and turbulent. Formerly members of the Bloodwing Foundation with several non-related associates, the head of the family disbanded the Foundation after a sequence of events noted here and in other journals (Frau Lowey's, for one) in which the demon prince and family Founder Bloodwing was first severely damaged, then after a transformative experience, killed in an act of revenge and self-sacrifice; Koen was kidnapped, tortured, and lost one of his nine feline lives; Darien Mason's 'father' Herr Jeremiah Mason's mad plans were overthrown; Gematria nearly sacrificed herself physically and mentally; and members of the Foundation and Consulate traveled through space and dimensions on a rescue mission which resulted in not just a rescue, but Amarantis Belfire.

That is actually a summary of extreme terseness.

This evening past, a small breathing space in all these adventures allowed a wake to be held on the outskirts of Port Laudanum in Winterfell, where Doctor Mason's friends from Novem provided a parlor with sufficient space for the several attendees to remember the demon Bloodwing in solemn surroundings. I did not know him myself - his focus had largely passed from this plane of existence by the time I and my scientists discovered the gateway to this dimension containing Steelhead, Caledon, Winterfell and the lands beyond. However, I do know his family well enough to stand by them in their time of loss.

The family and commiserators assembled A podium with the family arms stood ready, but it never became that formal.	The family remember Bloodwing (L-R) Frl, Lumina Elvehjem, Frl.
